Today's Learnings (MH Flexible Earn on QF & Combined Classic Reward Bookings)

I think that's my point, the earning was pretty ok initially. Then it reduced for "the kangaroo route" at about the same time as the EK partnership on the kangaroo route". I agree 100% the cuts for MH was all about the EK partnership, or maybe that should be my opinion.

Moving I and Z in 2022 is just a refinement of the same cough... IMO.
I also note that P has completely disappeared from 1 August 2022. I know the existent is MH first is very questionable, but assuming it's still a thing* given A and F are still in the earning table.
Imagine buying First can getting ZERO.

As for fare classes, my recollection is that the MH website actually gave the fare class before you purchased. Maybe that's changed since they moved to Amadeus. But this was how I got MH awards that I knew would earn on QF, back in the day. Certainly devaluation of QF earning on MH can't have been helped by people earning on MH awards.

*I thought I saw an advertisement for their A380 restarting, or maybe it was an a350 to LHR
MH doesn’t have first class anymore. They have a product called Business Suite which is better than Business class. Business Suite books into F for the Full Business suite ticket or A for the Business Suite sale fare

Yes. The "Business Suite" is the old F seats on the A350 with a little reduced service from when t was sold as F. I'd have to say, having flown it as "F" and as "Business Suite" it's still a very good product, The suites are very comfortable, and the service and food are very good. I upgraded from J for reasonable bid amounts and very much enjoyed the experience to/from LHR. (The timing for KUL-LHR was also really really good with an afternoon arrival into London which was perfect). If one's less worried about QF SC's and points, it's a pretty reasonable product and experience for the price imo.

Even before the EK partnership was formalised, the MH earnings were convoluted. But yes, it could have been in anticipation of the EK tie up.
I have to say the old school QF website is quite a nostalgia trip.

I believe the "simpler and fairer" decimation of the programme in early 2014 then extended a reduced earn to other oneworld airlines where QF had a competing route.

Re: reply from Qantas747, as in member on here; above

(((Glad to read this thread and see others having the same issue. I had booked an MH Economy Flex to get the last few SCs to requalify, and hadn't realised that they would have 0 SC earn)))

That was where my gist came from.

Maybe he/she was put into a non earning subclass within Economy Flex, who knows, except MH (heh), in MH's booking system, and with QF, its only 2 sets of earn, Flex Y and Disc Y.

Hard not knowing what subclass Qantas747 was booked into, as in the alphabet code.

And also, the QFF points calculator (website), does not list the subclasses that earn in QFF while flying MH, where it involves Aust as a desto/arrirval point for/of MH flights.

???? This doesn't look right

cheers skip
