TomCat's new digs!

By memory you went with slightly smaller design to get more green space. Thats going to come in handy now. having that buffer between your back door and the back fence is well worth it.
It’s not small but it is double story so it’s has a smaller footprint. Yes we’re loving our outdoor space, not looking forward to having a house up against the back fence.

Just from Bunnings.

Our backyard view is looking a little different these days.

Oh dear, they are using waffle blocks. Insulating their house from the ground will add a massive amount to their electricity bill in both summer and winter. Just make sure they don't ask to plug a power cord into your elec supply!

They already have their own power box.

Had the builder back through last week to sort out some issues (one ongoing, one new). Finally some proactivity, he picked up a few extra issues and they're also being sorted.

He wasnt happy with some of the paint work (neither was I but the office knocked back my request to fix it); painter is coming through again this week to fix it. Loose step to be fixed at top of the stairs. Grout to be removed from entire ensuite shower and replaced with epoxy grout.

That's a good fix.

House has been repainted over the last week. All our ceilings, and a couple of walls. Looks much better.

Today our shower is being done; all the grout is out and is being replaced with epoxy. Shower screen gets refitted Wednesday.

Disconnected down pipe was fixed last week. Just waiting on a loose step being fixed.

Our powder room light fitting broke; the glass spontaneously cracked. Beacon covering it under warranty but they no longer have that fitting so we need to go and choose something else.

The view over the back fence changes rapidly. Two years ago it was gum trees, last year it was earth moving equipment. Now its houses...

We also made the most of lockdown ending and got our outdoor area decked.

that outdoor decking looks great - will be terrific for little ones to play on (not an area for grown-ups!). You must have seen lots of changes in the area now not just over the back fence but in gardens becoming more established and trees growing. It doesn't take long

Finally got the builder in again to sort out issues that were meant to be fixed in April (and to look at new issues, again).

Someone will finally be coming to fix our loose top step.

Window winders to be repaired; the covers have split on many of them, and some no longer wind at all.

Our shower head also sprang a leak (it's become a dual shower 😂) but unfortunately they won't replace that due to their 1 year warranty (though if you buy that exact product privately you get a 15 year warranty). I've ordered a replacement part, expensive but I really like our shower head.

So now you get a 15 year warranty for the replacement shower head purchased privately but only a year for the original one fitted at onset. Yeah, that makes sense. But as you say, it's what you want.

For whatever reason, its only 12 months for commercial purchases but 15 years for private.
