Some airlines do check your passport at the aircraft door.Come to think of it why not add a further check at the aircraft door?

I tend to get picked up because I usually have three phones, a bag of cables, spare batteries etc. What is really annoying is being separated from my possessions for the secondary scan. Last time I picked up on the adapter missing when the tray was returned, and it was recovered quickly...from where I don't know.
This time not so lucky. iPhone5 gone. I was in too much of a rush. So far it has not been handed into lost property. (After 4 days!!)
I guess a more serious tip would be to check that all your items have been returned after a secondary scan at LHR T5.

Oh, God, that post brought back memories of my worst every 'security' experience, at LHR T3.
Stupid, inefficient proceedures. (All containers at the wrong end? OK, EVERYONE stops what they are doing, meet at the airside end, hand 2 or 3 containes to each other, walk them to the landside end, go back, pick up a couple more ....)
Let 2 out of 4 people go in 'break' at the same time, no replacements;
Each and EVERY small (<100ml) toothpase, balm etc taken out and individully held up to the sniffer thingy;
Each and EVERY gizmo, charger, box, container etc individually opened and closely inspected;
Valuable stuff taken out of view and left there while they go have a chat to some-one else ...
I retaliated by just having a big smile. Drove 'em nuts. Two of them actually asked me what i was so happy about (I'm not kidding.) I replied "I've just experienced a huge joke." I don't think they got it.
