Sorry for the poor quality, but a short video showing the suites pool area

I stayed at the Conrad last month as a Gold, and got upgraded from the second cheapest room (ocean view king) to the same suite as you, but on the top floor. Was brilliant :) Even better, if you go across the street and down the laneway there's a great little husband+wife warung which will get you 2x meals and drinks for <$4. I've never actually eaten hotel food apart from breakfast in memory.

One somewhat unique thing at the Conrad is there is a giant chess set near the main part of the pool. While mr sheep and I were killing time after checking out playing a game, we attracted a massive crowd of supporters :D

I was wondering whether those top floor rooms might be better. Obviously a nicer view. What was the balcony like?

We did go for a walk around outside the hotel. Not shortage of places to eat. Also no shortage of places to get a massage starting at $8.

Top floor suite in blocks 3 and 4 and possibly 2 have private plunge pools too! And 3 balconies- bedroom, living room and one with the pool and deckchairs.

Good view, 2 balconies - a small ish one overlooking the pool, and a bigger one off the lounge overlooking the ocean.

If you keep walking to the right there's massages for $6 :)

With the lounge do the have canapés or is it just drinks? In the evening

They serve both. Canapes are brought to you (not a buffet). Each day has a different selection of 5 or 6 little bits. They were generally pretty good. They would bring you as many refills as you liked too. If you had a decent sized lunch and were after a light dinner, you could make a meal of it.

Lounge access (via suites or diamond, not purchased) gives breakfast at rin, ala carte buffet instead of standard place.
Afternoon buffet high tea with all you can drink softies, milk shakes, teas etc.
This transitions into evening canapés with coughtails (as in real coughtails, including Manhattan and Long Island). Generally given a platter and you can ask for more of anything you want.

Unlike Conrad Tokyo where it is one plate only on the weekends. Minor sour taste for a $600+/night room...
