Hi - was wondering how far ahead boarding passes are issued. I am doing BNE-BKK-IST (TG and TK) with a 19 layover in BKK. I want to leave the airport which I know I can, but it attracts a $35 fee if you don't have your boarding pass issued in Australia (the transit desks in BKK stamp it as transit so this attracts the fee when you go back through immigration and it also can get picked up if you go to the normal check in )

Any experiences, especially with TG at BNE airport on this issue?

I don't have any direct experience on the boarding pass issue, but point out that even if your boarding passes are issued in Australia, the departure tax from bangkok can still be collected. It is hit and miss... some officers will send you back to pay it, some will let you through without collection.
