Put through a dummy booking for possible award trip to Europe next year.

The flights below came up.

Is 1 hour sufficent time between flights at SIN.

Both are in Terminal 1.

Thought of going another way, but there don't appear to be any award flights from HKG-HEL on the 12th.

Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, this is a legal connection for QF to AY at SIN T1. Per KVS:

The connection is legal but that does not necessarily mean you will make the connection. Are you prepared to spend the night in SIN, or more if not suitable flights, if you do not make the connection?

Have you looked at the on time performance of QF31 or soon to be QF1?

QF31 soon to be QF1 :)

In my experience QF31 is somtimes late, but not by much - maybe 10-15 minutes. Otherwise it's on time, and sometimes early (5-10 minutes). I have flown this about 30 times in the past 2 years. Other than engines exploding, there seem to be far fewer issues with the A380 vs the 747 it replaced.

Thanks all for the advice.

Do you think it safer to take QF5 SYD-SIN, which arrives at 21.55, 1Hr 35Min before the AY flight.

Is QF5 ontime more reliable than QF1?

As an award flight, if we miss the connection in SIN that means we also miss the HEL- LED.

Would Qantas put us up in SIN, and also would AY guarantee us seats on the next flight.

QF5 has better reliability than QF31/QF1. According to Flightstats QF5 has an on time perfomance of 77% and an average delay of 17 minutes.

Still a risk when going from one carrier to another even though same alliance and same ticket.

I believe you will be put up in SIN if you miss the connection but there is no guarantee you will be on the next flight. They will try and put you on next available flight which may not necessarily mean the next flight.
