I have booked an award flight to London on Emirates J class in November. There is only 1 hour and 5 minutes listed between our arrival in Dubai and the next flight to Gatwick. Is this too tight? Speaking with Emirates today they said it will be fine but I am still a bit nervous.

Any wisdom would be very welcome.

Thank you

Rick

Depends if it's the same terminal but EK has multiple flights to LGW if you don't make it?

Or they could put you on a flight to LHR, of which there are many more (and maybe also cover your LHR-LGW transfer costs)?

For most normal folks the stress of tight connections is to be avoided at any cost.
75min can disappear in a flash, arriving late, gate delays, 5km walks to next gate and so on
Dubai terminals are a jungle.. why risk the heartache ?

My experience at Dubai has always been pretty rough. I used to have to walk halfway across the airport, and then go through security again (in a transit). It took absolutely ages. It always annoyed me because I was travelling business class, wanting to buy duty free (cheaper there) and use the lounge (being on Brunei Airlines which is dry). I never had enough time.

I'm not sure if it's still a requirement to go through security again, but if it is, your time will be tight.

And they said it would be fine? 🤔

At worst you’d get a Y seat up the back, on a later flight. 😉

I think it’s tight. As noted above, you will have to re-do security, and this can take a while. If you have to take the train between terminals, that can also be quite long. If you could change it, I would. Also as noted above, more time in the lounge!
