Hi everyone,

I will have around 20 hours in transit in Singapore tomorrow. Looking to pop out of the airport and explore a little bit around the city. In the past, I've used the SG tourist pass if I has staying for a day, or the ezlink card to get around if I was staying for an extended period of time. This time though, it is a bit awkward as I'll stay for the afternoon the first day and then the morning of the next, which seems to make buying the tourist pass impractical as it is per day and not per 24 hour period while I probably won't travel enough on the mrt to justify the ezlink deposit. I just found out they had gotten rid of single use tickets and instead now you can use your bank card and just tap. Has anyone tried this? Does it work with all banks? Hoping to use either ING or Suncorp debit.

Thanks!

What airline are you using to fly into SIN?

Also the SG Tourist pass is $10 for day 1 and then only and extra $6 for the 2nd day.

Yes you can tap on and tap off with CC/DC or Smart phone such as Apple Pay for the MRT

Not a big deal, but foreign cards also get charged a 50c administration fee when posted. Visa posts daily (so 50c/day) whilst Mastercard posts every 5 days or so.

As a resident, I always use contactless payments, just remember you need to use the same card and same type of payment upon entry and exit (don't mix and match a physical card and the same card on a phone, such as Apple Wallet). My mother used a Bendigo Bank Mastercard when she visited recently, worked just fine.

I used my 28° MC a few months ago and got charged buggerall for two airport transfers and several trips around town over a cheeky long weekend away. Something like A$8…
