Travel Bank Credit Expiry

I have ~$800 due to expire soon due to the 12 month rule. If I book and pay for a flight and then subsequently cancel it, does the 12 months start again?

No, as you cancel it the system refunds back to the travel bank and has the same expiry to begin with..

That travel bank is rather smart! I've tried it myself lol

So if the credit expires in May, and I book a flight for September in April, and then cancel it in August..... the credit disappears?
