Any recent advice about companies worth checking, Australians travelling to Europe, aged 82. Anything besides Covermore? Thanks.

We use SCTI.

Not 80 yet but they say will cover to 100. And twice we have made a claim - not massive but in both cases money back in less than a week.

I was hoping you’d throw your advice in too, as in the past. I’ll certainly pass it on to our friends who are inveterate travellers but have hit the 81 cut off. Thank you.

One of us is over 80. Have had cover with Allianz for many trips including cruises. They cover pre existing medical conditions with an extra fee. Have had 2 large claims for medical issues that prevented us from travelling, both paid promptly once all the relevant paperwork was sent to them.

Fantastic to hear firsthand experience. Thanks for that. Keep up the travel! We are off tomorrow for 9 weeks.

Just a cautionary note re National Seniors Travel Ins. Last year, aged 79, had cover for $816.75. This year a similar (though not identical) trip quote for $2,339.21. Considerably more than NIB Travel who underwrite National Seniors Travel! I've never made a claim.

Tick travel insurance for me (70+) has been my go to for several trips.
National Seniors insurance very expensive in comparison.

Do you know if they will cover pre-existing complaints like leukaemia? Just saves me pfaffing about on their web site if you do already know as I am bone lazy at the moment 😅

Budget Direct, have used this year, by far the best

Yes they do cover pre existing diseases. I now have to put down atrial fibrillation, anticoagulants and stroke so does make it more expensive but then I am covered.
You can get a quote and see. When I had questions I emailed them and they were quick to answer and helpful.

I was stunned by the quotes for a month in the US and Central America, in the end Covermore had the best price by a long margin.
The difference was their interpretation of a pre existing disease definition.
Pre existing condition cover can be very broadly defined and make the cost of cover for relatively minor risk profiles difficult.

Qantas travel insurance (you get FF points) and National Seniors Travel insurance both offer annual multi trip for over 80 - I use either of these

I booked with Insure 'N Go who offered an option to disclose a medical condition which was cancer which had been treated and that didn't seem to up the premium at all. Anybody have any experience of these guys? We're travelling on sept 13th and I'm hoping they're true to their word?
