Travel Insurance - pre-existing condition (heart)

I am never quite sure what a pre- existing heart condition is. Many years ago my BP was very high and have taken a daily Diovan pill for decades. My BP is about 128/74 and an echo stress test this year showed no problems.

Do I have a pre-existing heart condition ?

I still don't know the answer to that regarding travel insurance.

No. You have controlled hypertension. Must be declared though unless the 'already covered pre existing conditions' lists it. Check the PDS.

You need to look at the covered pre-existings in their standard PDS. If high blood pressure isn't listed, you need to disclose it - more because I think if something ever happened to you related to your heart or blood pressure while traveling they would deny the coverage. My view is that insurance companies will go out of their way to cover major medical expenses if they have a legitimate out (like not disclosing that you are on BP medication). Not legal advice, just my own view.
