Travel plans 2024

Not long to go now.
Less than 2 weeks & I will be headed to Europe for a holiday.

Flying SQ Syd-Sin-Lhr in F with a 22 layover in Sin.
I have booked myself a room at the Crowne Plaza Changi.

Then its off to Lhr the next day with a 7:30pm arrival.
I will probably book a room at the Sofitel Heathrow for the night.

Next morning I have a 7:30 am flight to HEL. 😅
My destinations on this trip are Helsinki, Dublin and Copenhagen.

Then its back to Australia on QR Cph-Doh-Mel in J.
Still need to organise a hotel in Melbourne for the night and will likely fly back to Syd on VA in J.

😀😀
Don't forget you can visit TPR on arrival into SIN, and before your departure to LHR. Just incase you need a top up before heading to the Crowne. ;)

if you can do this in CPH - a must. Quick train to get there and a stunning day out.
PS - called Louisiana as the land on which it was build was owned by a farmer who had three wives all named Louise

Have a lovely trip!

Just back yesterday from Vietnam and Cambodia. Great trip, with a lot of flights within four weeks. Flew SQ on points SYD-SIN-HAN and stayed in Hanoi, van out to Sapa, back to Hanoi, flew to Danang (VietJet was much better than expected - a lot of online whingers about lost luggage and delays). A few days there, flew to SAI (HCMC) on VietJet, few days there, flew Cambodia Angkor Air to PP (Cambodia) couple of days, car to Siem Reap, few days at Angkor Wat then flew back (CAA) to PP from the middle of nowhere new airport, changed planes flew (CAA) to SAI, couple of days then SAI-SIN-SYD home on SQ points. Nine flights. Wonderful trip for my first time in this region. I will promise a trip report at some stage but going on past form I probably won't deliver.
So I was barely on the plane home and was planning the next trip...

Going to pop over to Eswatini next weekend, so guess I can add that to my travel plans. The new airport (SHO) is not really near and it means a bus connection anywhere, so going to hire a car as they're pretty cheap anyway.

What a terrible influence you are 🥂🤣🤣
Expected to land around 2:30pm then I'm off to TPR 🍴🍾🛌😴🍴🍾 & eventually enter 🇸🇬
If my glass is always refilled before I finish it = I only had 1 glass 😉

Heading off to Europe in two weeks. Our first European overseas trip since 2019, and that was a big one for 9 weeks.

This one is for 6 weeks. First stop Singapore, then Budapest, where we pick up a river cruise to Amsterdam. (our first river cruise).

10 days in France, then 2 weeks hiring a car and touring Devon/Cornwall/Somerset and Wiltshire(Cotswolds). So much planning (my favourite part)! Our first JAL business flights.

Hoping I haven't forgotten anything in preparation!

I am sure you know all about it but this is a wonderful thing to do in Cornwall. The most incredible outdoor theatre looks over the water. All done by hand by the owner and great theatre
This is a top 10 in my favorite travel memories (twice!)
Have a great trip

Thanks @MARTINE for your recommendation.
I had listed it in my notes about the area, but I now need to investigate a visit a bit closer.😊

OK, 2024 is going pretty well
Jan - trip to Boulder, Colorado for a Roundtable session for a couple of days.
March - CHC weekend for the AFF dinner, with Mr Katie and The Teen in tow.
March/April - Girls' weekend in MEL.
May - Minneapolis for a conference.
Nov/Dec - Grad Trip. Flights ticketed as QF Classic Rewards in to and from LAX. Rest of details to be sorted, including WDW hotels and what to do in NYC (perhaps) Thanksgiving week.

2024 is already shaping up as a good year for travel.

Just returned from 3 weeks touring New Zealand North and South Island on a Grand Pacific full size Coach, but fitted out with 20 very comfortable "business class" seats.

in 10 days time depart on Q-suites ADL-EDI for some Scotland exploring then to London for a week before boarding Silver Endeavour for 14 days cruising the Irish Sea and various Scottish Islands, Southern coast of Iceland disembarking Reykjavik, then flying SAS to Norway for a few days of exploring Oslo and Flam. Flying home slightly Circuitous path, boarding QR in OSL to DOH, then SIN for a long weekend and then SQ home to ADL.

In November , Q-suites ADL-MAD, for 2 weeks exploring Madrid and Lisbon. Boarding Silver Moon 22 Nov for 14 day Trans-Atlantic cruise to Fort Lauderdale via the Canary Islands. Flying home via an Air Canada awards booking, TAP MIA-LIS-FRA stopover for 10 days to imbibe in German Christmas markets the LH FRA-GLA for some holiday time with family in Edinburgh and Glasgow. Then LH GLA-FRA and SQ for the flight home FRA-SIN-ADL. Total cost for the flights from MIA to ADL including the stopover 120,000 Aeroplan points + 300CAD each, which seems very good value compared to what it would have cost in QFF points.

Revised plan - not long to go now.

May 21 I depart MEL for CAN on CZ J! to see some relations before heading up to Luoyang and Xi'an for some "domestic" leisure travel for me. Returning via HKG on June 9 to hopefully catch up with the AFF Asian pub crawl people, returning HKG-SIN-AKL (SQ J) and back to work.

In September it looks like MEL-SIN-LHR on SQ J and 2-3 weeks in Scotland and Ireland, and then going DUB-LAX and 3 weeks in California and Nevada: LA, Big Sur, Yosemite, Lake Tahoe and Vegas. Returning with Fiji airlines J redemption home.
