Hi, first time visiting Japan. Reason for forum is I have to purchase a guitar from Fender Japan but pay for it now and in 10 days I am going to pick it up from Tokyo. Can I claim if anyone knows tax free entitlement once I arrive there. I will have to bring though AUS customs and as an oversized package. Which option is better? Not claim Japan duty free, or pay GST in AUS. But I can not avoid paying item now otherwise I do not own it, Special Edition. I will appreciate any help. Thanks.

According to Fender Japan website whilst tax free shopping is available, it is only for payments made in the store with your actual passport. They don't offer refunds afterwards, and don't off tax free for online. You may be able to convince them to let you "purchase" again, and refund your (presumably online) purchase, but I wouldn't count on it.

You will have to declare the item, and if over you exemption, pay GST bringing it into Australia regardless of whether or not you get a tax-free purchase in Japan. Tax paid or not paid in Japan makes no difference to the requirement to pay tax on the import.
