Travelling to MEL - restaurant recommendations?

Disappointing about Bistro Gitan. I think I will stick to France Soir then. I love the omelette at the Cellar Bar. It is right near my office so is good for a breakfast or coffee visit.

Not surprised about Jardin Tan. It doesn't get very good reviews.

Yes, pity about your Bistro Gitan experience. The restaurant is slap bang in the middle of the construction site that is Metro Tunnel and will be for a good while. If they fill up in those circumstances they must have a good following.

Short trip to Melbourne provided an opportunity to eat at some old favourites and try a couple of new restaurants.

Lupino - spotted this one last trip, way too busy to secure a table ... sorted that out for this trip.

France Soir - this one gets mentioned often on AFF ... it’s about time we tried it.

Walking in I was pretty confident I’ve eaten here 20 odd years ago.

Terrific meal with all the charm and feel one would expect from a 33 year old veteran. I happily add my recommendation that France Soir is certainly worth a reservation.
