So you used to be able to get a domestic flight BNE - SYD say 20 October, fly back to Brisbane on a separate booking, then do SYD - LAX 20 December on the same ticket as your 20 October flight and the system would price it as though you were leaving in October which is a much lower and cheaper season (which you technically were, just with a stopover). I can't get this to work any more, has anyone else had any luck?

Cheers

With my limited recent experience the Milti-City feature appears to have been broken or fixed depending on which way you look at it.

I have reported the issue a while back with flights ex-SIN and nothing seems to have been done about it.

I am having a similar issue right now with a SYD-HKG-SYD-BNE booking. As soon as I add the SYD-BNE leg the airfare jumps from ~$833 to $1302.

QF a few months ago bought in more restrictive stopover provisions, from memory where they are allowed the validity is 30 days.

I just booked AKL-LAX-BNE-AKL, with a stopover in BNE from late August to late January

Fortunately I had to go to AKL, so also bought BNE-AKL return.

Prices BNE-LAX return were 35% higher than AKL-LAX return with the massive layover in Brisbane. Add in the cost of the BNE-AKL return and my tickets were equal to the BNE-LAX return. Read on some thread of an Qantas NZ sale, so took serious advantage of it.

I believe the changes were related to Asian trips from memory, the AKL ones are yet to be affected.
