Qantas
Gold
On Saturday filled the car with petrol at a BP. On going to pay, scanned my Qantas Card and was offered a $100 voucher for 19,000 points. Entered the special reward code pin from the Qantas App but it was declined. Paid the full amount and drove home.
On getting home had email from Qantas saying that the 19,000 points had been redeemed. Checked servo recipt and that states redemption declined.
Rang Qantas on 1300 662 859 and after 40 minutes on hold was told it was not to do with them and put me thorough to another department. Gave up after 2 hours.
Any thoughts on the correct direct number or email address to get my 19,000 points back?

The lesson learnt is that even QF baulked at this value.

Repeat after me: "Never spend points on anything other than flights."

Actually this has been fine so far, happy to use the points now for petrol, (and Lego) rather than not using them at all, as when I fly for leasure it has never worked out to book the flights on points. But I will admit often booking hotels on points...

I am absolutely not condoning this, but want to point out there are better ways to turn your QFF points into a tank of fuel if that is the goal.

For example the $100 denomination WISH gift card is 16584 points until 20 Jul. It can be stacked with 4c/8c off vouchers at Caltex Woolies which in my area is also a bit cheaper than BP. The cards can also be used at Woolies, Big W, BWS and Dan Murphys.
