First trip report for the forum from me. As outlined in these threads, this was my first time in Qantas J, and I was flying during the weather problems in Europe pre and post Christmas.

Full text report is on my site - ‘Trip Report’ – Sydney to LHR via Singapore & Frankfurt | g.r.

In summary - had a blast; Qantas J was great. Overindulged - ate and drank a bit too much; and had great service from Qantas. Now addicted!

Pics follow...

I can relate!

Great photos! Have always wondered what the nose section is like on those 2 class 744 with Skybeds.

Did you fly Club Europe on BA or regular Y? Looking forward to the return TR. :)

It was Club Europe, hence the JAL Sakura lounge access in FRA. I had originally booked BA Y but they hit me with a promo to upgrade for 100 Euro; I couldn't resist, partially making the decision by justifying it with the lounge access at FRA and priority baggage all the way to LHR. Turned out neither of things actually happened (shower closed, luggage on wrong belt), so I paid 100 euro for 30 extra SC's, breakfast in the lounge, noone sitting next to me and quickly off the plane... and onto a bus.
Meh, these things happen.

Nice pics! :D Full body shot on skybed... must try that one sometime.:shock:

Full body shot - yeah, that was tough. Took a few goes in the dark, with no flash obviously. And that is NOT my stomach poking out - I think it was my book leaning on me. I hope it was my book!

I missed a bunch of photos from FRA-LHR - whoops. That's QF5 that I had disembarked from a couple of hours earlier.

Are you using a dedicated camera or the one on a phone to take such clear photos? I was thinking an iPhone would be good for this sort of thing, but not sure of the photo quality.

It's a dedicated camera- a canon ixus 110is. Nothing fancy, just point and shoot and it can also do HD video. It's a decent camera, I'm happy with the pics it produces but spend about 15 seconds post processing each pic in iPhoto, which makes all the difference.

Thanks for that. My son just broke my Ixus and so I'm looking around for something else and wondered if it might be the excuse I need to get that iPhone!

Great TR too.

Thanks for the TR - some really good photos you have there.

That CW breakfast looks comical - perhaps it was a good thing that I got the extended breakfast service instead on the way to FRA and had a sit down breakfast in LHR T5 GF.
