Your Qantas status is used by JAL to determine lounge access.

I would have thought OWE applies across the partners so at some point this opens the door to privileges like seat selection

When I travelled in June
I went to the lounge on landing and then to the transit side hotel (showers and sleep) and then back to the lounge after 6am for the flight to London (showers in the lounge being on a booking service)

As others have mentioned special provisions for JAL41 late night to London
