Hi all,

I actually use all of these tools, although I default to TripIt most of the time. However, none of them do the job.

What I really need is something that alerts me to a flight’s gate, when a flight is boarding, last call, etc. I assume there must be a reason why one isn’t available, but I can’t understand why.

Maybe it’s available in the US, but not EMEA or APJ, due to disparate platforms, airports owning the IP, or risk aversion of being sued if a push notification doesn’t make it through to the passenger and they miss they flight.

I know there are some examples - LCY lets you subscribe to flight notifications on Twitter, for example. I also know AppInTheAir does give these, but they’re based on a timer from crowdsourced info rather than real time status updates.

Nonetheless, I thought I’d ask if anyone knows why a universal app with boarding notifications doesn’t exist, or if it does, where it is!

Many thanks,

D

I am using tripit, with paid subscription. It has push notification and sms for flight gate change, boarding etc. It's not perfect, but it does a few things I need.
