TripIt Travel App Help

Hi All,

Possibly the wrong place to post this - if so I apologise! I have recently discovered the great travel planning app, TripIt. However, I am wondering if anyone who uses this app can help me with a query. I'm planning a couple of trips with my fiancé and she has access to see the plans via TripIt however there are a few activities/surprises I have planned that I don't want her to be able to see (thus preserving the surprise). Is there anyway to "hide" certain items from her yet still allow them to be visible to me within the app?? Or does anybody have advice as to a similar app that does possess this feature?

TripIT is a great planning app, and I've played around with a few (TripCase, Kayak) and still find TripIT the best, and I haven't paid the membership, which I understand to make it 10 times better especially when it is used in anger (ie when travelling). They are similar in concept, but execution not as sweet. TripCase has the added bonus of free updates (equivalent to TripIT pro) from airlines, and is powered with Sabre links.

Maybe you should look at using one of the others for the "Secret" trips, and not tell soon 2b Mrs bwc86

If the items are listed as separate itineraries then making those private should make them hidden

The one major failing of TripIt is that there is no way to control privacy/view settings within an individual itinerary. This also becomes an issue when planning a trip with several people with slightly different itineraries. I.e. Why do I need an SMS update about a friends flight from MEL-xx_ when I'm flying on my own SYD-xx_. It's great to be able to see that info but even better would be the ability to hide it.

I'd recommend creating 2 itineraries: 1 for normal trip stuff and the other for the suprises. Set the one with suprises to private. After the trip there is an option to combine itineraries so that you can have 1 complete record of your trip.
