Triple or Double Points Offers - November 2017

WP 1% got offer for Triple. My understanding on the T&C is we get triple on the base rates, not on the double points WP's get normally.

Any applicable tier bonus earned will not attract Bonus Points as a result of this offer.

WP on $200 booking earns 5K 4K points rather than 2K points.

NR on same $200 booking earn 4K 3K points rather than 1K points.

Shame about the timing for me as I had just flown out only yesterday with them. Anyone on the cusp of such offers previously had luck being credited the bonus?

How did you work it out?

$200 = 1000 points x3 = 3k points on promo

as a WP normally
$200 = 1000 points x 2 = 2k points

Think for WP just add those two together. Promo + Normal WP earn (3k + 2k) = 5k...

I think you are right after reading this line again. Calculated this way 1000 base points + 2000 bonus points + 1000 WP bonus points = 4000 points. I had the impression no bonus points will be earned. Maybe I should start booking now.

Actually, you are correct, 'triple' is actually 1 x base points plus bonus points being 2 x base points.

Looks like T&C’s mandate flights being booked through va.com so wouldn’t have meant much for work bookings...

A total of 17 to 22 VFF pts/$ spent for me (5*3 base + 5 WP status bonus (not getaway) + 2 Amex Platinum Charge).
