Eg BNE - LON 28/06 - 22/07

It keeps giving me an error when actually trying to book though :(

Anyone have any luck?

websites buggered - doubt it'll be possible to ticket anything

From what I see these aren't mistake fares, just that fares aren't loading at all, and therefore you can't book. All I see is the booking fee, not any fares. com.au seems to be 999, .com seems to be 9.99.

Not sure what's more surprising.

The mistake fare or people's reaction when they can't book a $10,000 fare for $9.99!

after those $0.00 before taxes fares on AA that were honoured for F between washington and PEK i guess it's worth a try... more a game than anything.. if you get it then that's awesome, if you don't then you shouldn't be surprised.

This might be it, I saw 14.99 SYD to SIN (via Melbourne). Of course this was Jetstar, though the MEL to SIN leg was "Business" so not totally bad.

when you actually try to go through with booking it says

The booking could not be completed because the fare is no longer available

i've tried a couple of different combinations... most of the route prices have also now been corrected

Even if you could book it the agency or airline could cancel it.

Australia doesn't have consumer protection against mistake fares like the US does. Normal contractual law would apply - meaning the airline wouldn't have to honour it.

has anyone managed to book successfully?
looks like they were just loaded incorrectly.. not bookable

doesn't look like the US will have it for much longer anyway...

DOT Will No Longer Make Airlines Honor Mistake Fares - View from the Wing
Yeah, though if you read the ruling its not a total get out of jail card for the airlines.

Regardless though, I think its a mistake to assume all mistake fares get picked up. Sure, when its posted on FT and multiple blogs and thousands pick up on it is, but dont assume there arent mistake's that individuals make use of, both here and in the US. Where its too small to easily notice some have got away with it (and some examples have been posted here).
