TSA delays are worsening

Argh. I'm flying through LGA, ORD and LAX in July. Thankfully the Marine Air Terminal at LGA is normally quite good. ORD and LAX on the other hand . . .

PHX threatening to fire the TSA and employ a private operator? They should consider the firm that does security for Manchester United, they sound thorough. On a serious note, glad I'm only transiting through PHX in July.

A domestic flight there takes all day and the flying time is the quickest bit.

We have flights booked via Atlanta... on a Monday... oh, joy!

I was reading an Atlanta airport guide and some of the tips was to stay hydrated and pack food for the wait in security lines - good grief.

I was boarding a flight from ORD to DFW today, domestic TSA wait time 2 hrs international 4 hrs. If you have status you may shorten the time by jumping into the priority queue. Cut the waiting time to 45 minutes. Make sure you allow amble time.

I remember flying into LAX from BNE last year and telling my wife how bad TSA are and how long the queues can be. I warned her to expect a long wait. 10 minutes later we were on the Hertz bus going to pick up our car. Unreal! Wish it was like that all the time.

It very much depends of the time you travel. If you manage an early morning or late night flight they are generally pretty good. It's the peak times 9am to 5 pm that are the worst. I had a 6.30am out of LAX earlier this week and I got thru TSA on priority in under 15 minutes.

One of the checkpoints at ATL is closed while they install new baggage belts. They are doing a trail with an auto bin return system.

The delays are a deliberate TSA work slow down. They want more money out of Congress.

Oh well!

After November, won't matter if Trump gets elected. Possibly sworn in Jan 2017. So a quick trip circa late November, early December could be in order... A last US status run perhaps?

Personally will boycott the place....nuff said! as my 17 y-o nephew says...

I found efficiency at this early time of the morning and was able to get to a domestic gate within 20 minutes from an international flight. (fast)

Just flown across the country and back with no problems..
Important notes: I am sky priority and haven't done LAX yet.. But do have 5 hours to kill so no panic on my side..

Well the TSA only check you on the way into the airport so they can't affect the exit process.

Why would you do that?

For fear of going off topic, (and starting a potentially intense discussion), all I'll say is, if they elect Mr Trump, then my $$ are better spent elsewhere. As a admittedly tiny form of protest.

Don't think I could have said it any more politiely ;)
