Re: Tiger - 10,000 $10 seats from 1-Jul
Agreed. TT have said publicly that they lost a lot of customers because of the grounding last year and while they have been quietly rebuilding their network away from the public spotlight (as nothing has really gone wrong) they need a big sale to entice people to try them again and show them how much they have improved. Theyve already said they wont make any money off these fares - they simply want to get new customers.
I doubt I will ever fly with TT again (badly burnt last time) but welcome them back to the skies - the more competition and capacity on the routes I fly, the better.
wadebosse, I think you will find that TT has changed a fair bit since their grounding last year. Granted there were a bit smaller than before, however, you have got to give them with being the most punctual domestic airline over the last few month (and also the least cancellation IIRC). With up to 11 flights a day between MEL and SYD, the chances of passengers being left stranded has reduced significantly.
On a related note, when I called the JQ price guarantee hotline this morning, the operator asked me (without promt) if I was looking at Tiger Airways when I mentioned to her I want fly from MEL to SYD They must have had a busy day today.
