Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles Status Match

Do anyone know if they will match you more than once?

I vaguely remember having this a few years back (before 2019)

No, TK will only do one status match per lifetime.
Just received email form TK, I have re-matched Elite. My last Status Match to TK Elite was 2013. Cheers

Do you get to nominate a start date or does the four months kick off straight away?

It’s TK: you’ll be given a start date somewhere +/- two months around your status match date (if given the match - use another random number generator for whether that will be successful).

Ringing the call centre for an explanation of whatever date you are allocated is akin to speaking with WF agents at mindpearl in CPT: you might get something useful, but mostly you’ll just get rubbish.

(Sorry I can’t help @justinbrett, TK Elite here - I tend to think of interacting with TK as a sort of sport…but they are improving year on year!)

Thanks for this thread, I am QF Plat and Lifetime Gold already so need to get a status match on Star Alliance. Singapore will do it with a return reservation, was hard to get hold of them but when I did a quick reply.

Any other good ones even on Sky Team?

I am sick of having to fly on QF metal x 4 per year when I haven't lived in Australia for years!

There's also the United (for Star Alliance) and Delta (for SkyTeam) status challenges, but you need to fly with those airlines to complete the challenge.

Out of interest, how did you get in touch with Singapore Airlines and what was the offer they made to you?

I've just moved the discussion about Singapore Airlines status matches over to this thread:

I applied for the status match today - I have a few star alliance flights coming up in the next few months, and I have to wait until next year before I can apply again with UA.

Process seems quite straightforward.

My status match has already been approved - less than 24 hours.

Strike while the iron's hot!

This thread is for discussion about the ongoing Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles status match offer.

The following AFF article contains more information about this status match: Star Alliance Status Match with Turkish Airlines
Overwhelmed on which airline to nominate for ff points on RWT.
I have just flown Qatar Brisbane Doha Madrid and return - economy and allocated Qatar Avios points as can be used for qantas.

Have now booked RTW Business Class with Turkish airlines Bris Singapore Istanbul Vancouver and return. Even though Turkish airlines RWT the Bris to Singapore is on qantats code share and the Vancouver back to Australia is on AirCanada so obviously also codeshare with Turkish airlines.
Need help big time on what frequent flyer allocation will give me most benefit and can if its beneficial is it possible to use different FF for different flights or it can be one only for all segments thanks for any advice - as hoping to be able to link Qatar points with this RTW points if needed when they all come in. cheers

I recently got one from Emerald QF to Gold on Turkish. Only took 1 economy flight with them to get the year. I am also 25% there for the added 2nd year of Gold having taken an Air India flight only in economy also. I had trouble finding out if enrolled subject to required flight but did it anyway and then got the 4months extended to a year - after initial flight they become helpful and easy to contact! I think 2 business long hauls on any star airline will get me the 2nd Gold year ( very achievable).

I had to do something with this 4 segments on Qantas as live in Europe and no other oneworld airlines would status match. I am lifetime gold so not chasing Emerald every year any longer, so silly as have the status credits just not the QF metal flights and they won't make any exceptions.

I just applied for this and was approved within a day.

Sent through a screenshot of my digital QFF Platinum card in the Qantas app, a PDF copy of my QFF activity statement covering the last 12 months and a copy of my passport. My status was upgraded as soon as I got the email back from TK, showing Elite status valid until June.

As per the usual requirements, I'll get an extra 8 months by taking at least 1 TK flight within the next 4 months (I plan to fly them from GRU to EZE next month) and need to earn 15,000 miles on TK flights within the next year to keep it for a second year.

I let my United status lapse this year so I'm happy with this!

Mine was matched in only a few hours, so they're pretty quick. Have more than 15k miles worth of travel booked with TK in the next few weeks and then a J return LHR-TBS so should be good for extending to 2 years.

Reading the thread on FT though it doesn't seem as clear cut on extending/renewing the matched status.

Is LHR-TBS on TK? I believe the 15,000 miles you need to fly in the first year to renew need to be on TK and not Star Alliance etc.

I have 16.5k miles on TK with my trip to TNR and MRU.

LHR-TBS is OS one way, LH the other - so that'll help with the 2 year renewal piece.

Does anyone know if codeshare flights count towards the 15,000 Status Miles required for the two-year extension?

Reasonably certain it has to be TK metal.
Dang. Would you also happen to know if the Status Miles earned from the first international flight (which extends status to one year) would also be included in the 15,000 requirement for two years? There is no detail from TK on the T&Cs of the status match.

Hm, good question! I can't remember. I knocked mine off all on a single trip.

Might be worth posting the query over on the thread on FT?

I've just found that Turkish will upgrade to Elite Status with a business return from Australia.
