TURO - has anyone tried renting through this platform ?

Different name. Turo is very popular with EV vehicles in the US if you are comfortable with that, though do have other models.

Virtuo and UFODrive (now also with some US locations, not DFW airport however) are UK/ Europe equivalents.

Evee is probably the equivalent locally.

I'd also be checking out AutoSlash - it looks against the major rental companies but applies codes etc. very quickly to come up with good rates which would take you days to do manually. On a US rental I saved $7-800 (2 week rental) and have had considerable savings also in Tunisia, Israel and Jordan amongst other places.

I haven’t used Turo myself but heard good things from someone I know who uses it.

I booked a car from and to LAX this year but signed up on some car rental email lists and they sent a deal as they do in the first couple of months to get you hooked and I went with Alamo from LAX. USD65 per day all up including location fee and taxes for an AWD Santa Fe for 12,000km of touring.

When I arrived home I unsubscribed from the rental car email list and now getting ready to subscribe again for my next trip with a different email address ready for the next promo deal for new subscribers.

Turo looks much cheaper than all the other options when I was searching for Florida later this year
Check hire car options closer to the date of your visit. Prices are dynamic.

I was going to use Turo for a very long car hire in the US last year, but got a cheaper price with Alamo. And given the car was written off in a storm I'm thankful that I did. I got a new car from a local Amao depot very quickly.
