TV series discussion {'ware Spoiler Alert}

Inventing Anna was interesting.

Here is the original article by the journalist who wrote the piece upon which it was inspired...interesting. If you liked that watch Tinder Swindler on net flix

First episode of "The First Lady"dropped on Paramount + today and it is a promissing start, starting with the period before they became first ladies.

Tells stories of Elanor Roosevelt (Gillian Anderson), Betty Ford (Michelle Pfieffer) and Michelle Obama (Viola Davis), stellar main cast and includes supporting roles by Keifer Sutherland as FDR and Aaron Eckhart as Gerlad Ford.

I got Paramount + solely to watch Dexter New Blood but they are doing well with period dramas including Gilded Age and now The First Lady.

Also watched the first two episodes of Outer Range, Ive had a soft spot for Josh Brolin since the days of The Goonies and The Young Riders. It floors me at 54 he is playing a grandpa (and that the actor playing his son is 39!) and the more he ages the more he looks like his dad James. Im undecided on where its going, many scenes are very dark (literally, not theme wise) so best watched at night with lights off, i watched in the morning and reflectoon from the sun made it hard to see what was happening in parts.

That was one of the first shows i watched on Netflix about 5 years ago.
Only just found it, late to the party as usual.
One criticism, rancher Alice Fletcher is just a bit Lady Mary Crawley in a smaller house.

thanks - raining and indoor day here - think will give Godless a go
Tip: Typical US cough sound recording, I missed the odd bit of dialogue until I had the thought to adjust the the factory sound settings on my newish Sony TV. In the equaliser settings (Settings/Sound/Equaliser) I reduced the base controls and raised the treble settings and this made it clearer.

I didn't have any sound issues with Godless, but maybe it depends what device and app version you are using to cast to TV. When I run streaming apps through fetch (rather than use the app on my tv) get way better sound, Chromecast I find the sound is quiet and volume needs to put up. Now that Fetch supports all my subscriptions (Netflix, Stan, Prime, Paramount+ and Disney) I dont really need the chromecast.

I've reached a stage in my life where I only seem to watching sport or sci-fi.
Enjoyed the Lost in Space reboot. Also The Witcher.

Now onto S4 of Star Trek Discovery, before I move onto S2 of Picard.
And watching the Halo series as well, which as expected isn't much like the game at all, because that just wouldn't work.

My wife likes none of that, so she has her own things.

Im a child of Star Wars and was never really a trekkie, but did like the reboot movies with Chris Pine etc. I did watch Picard Season 1 (visually stunning, storyline ok) and was enjoying Discovery (because it pretty much resets history) then I lost track when it moved to Paramount+, tried to go back to it when I finally got P+ and realised Id totally forgotten what was going on. I also recently watched first episode of Picard S2 but again Im not feeling compelled to rush back to it.

My streaming taste are broad docudramas, Documentaries, SciFi, Drama, Historic Drama, Black Comedy and even some sitcoms.

Netflix is really dragging out the gaps between seasons especially for Stranger Things (those kids must all almost adults now) and Ginny & Georgia. Disney is annoying me as they show Greys Anatomy, but hold back Station 19 such that you cant watch cross-over episodes int he right order.

Anyone get into Yellowstone??? We loved it - that Beth is a fantastic character . . .

I've yet to watch it (although my Dad loves it), I'm sure you are aware the prequel 1883 is now streaming on Paramount+.

I hope you enjoy - a rollicking good time. Oh no - 1883 on yet another streaming service - I don't think I can subscribe for more

Of course you can do the free trial or just pay for a month until you watch what you want, then suspend until a new season drops next year.

I've found that Netflix + Stan + Prime + Disney + Paramount Plus + Fetch Drama pack is less than a Foxtel subscription (I care not for sport). Noting that Paramount Plus, Amazon Prime and Disney are all cheaper f you pay for 1 year, plus prime gets you free shipping on amazon orders.

Of course everyone has different capacity to pay, but with some careful planning you can pause and resume subscriptions month to month up to the limit of what you are prepared to spend. I find I go through waves of favouring one service above others.

Yes - you are quite correct. I guess it's just the fuss of having to do all of that. I got a free 3 months on Binge a while ago and the Mrs hasn't used it for what it was intended even now. I should read more books!!!
But back to your point; a Yellowstone prequel does sound good!! I might try - thank you.
