If the domestic network has shown us anything when international borders do reopen give it 6 months before things just go crazy. In June/July last year just as we were able to travel again there were a lot of empty seats on several BNE-CNS flights. Now every BNE-CNS flight is completely full and prices are insane.Plenty of life in them and I could imagine people going out of their way to travel in one in 10 years time.

Me to. I became a little teary watching that clip. That’s the time I’m dreaming of ... It’s a nice dream
In 10 years time, even the youngest of them will have hit its 'use by' date. I suspect engine support will be the first big issue, as the 380 is the only type that uses these engines.+1
I hope QF keep all 12, seeing as how COVID has made them much rarer. Plenty of life in them and I could imagine people going out of their way to travel in one in 10 years time.
Given the lockdowns pretty much ruling out flying to any other State from Brisbane - either currently or in the near future - then no surprise going north from Brisbane is near fully booked. If the domestic network has shown us anything when international borders do reopen give it 6 months before things just go crazy. Once it's "safe" again and people are reassured they will be able to return home without being thrown into quarantine these A380's will be quite useful.
I doubt it. Most people dont really care what type of aircraft they fly in. Most important is price price price, then schedule, then down the list is choice of aircraft.I could imagine people going out of their way to travel in one in 10 years time.
Domestic travel is all about high frequency schedules so an A380 will never run on BNE-CNSTotally concur, but if Cairns were capable, it would be nice.
I wouldn't say CNS would collapse entirely.
They had a few flights per day on BNE-CNS for example prior to COVID, back when CNS would be competing against the 'DPS Bogan Bus', NAN, NZ destinations and nearby Pacific Island destinations. OOL also had daily CNS flights pre-covid.
MCY-CNS would be an interesting route to watch when Int'l borders open though, despite the long requests for the route prior to Alliance opening the route (3x weekly) in mid 2020 with some subsidy from both local councils.
I'd say the 'Cashed up Bogan' factor also contributed to QF returning to DPS. 'I know people live to bash Bali as the playground for Aussie bogans but there also is a luxury edge to it now - one of the reasons Qantas found a market there again.
Well MCY isn't doing well.13 flights on the schedule for today, only 1 operating.Tomorrow is better with 2 out of 16 operating.I wouldn't say CNS would collapse entirely.

Yes, but do any of them have enough pax to cover their costs?Well MCY isn't doing well.13 flights on the schedule for today, only 1 operating.Tomorrow is better with 2 out of 16 operating.
VA are doing a lot better than the QF group with 2 of the arrivals - one from SYD and one from MEL.the only JQ flight is from ADL.
