Has anyone completed the Australian arrival application? My mum is trying to do it for Wednesday and it keeps throwing up errors. First invalid arrival port and now invalid passport number.

I'll try tomorrow. The sign up process alone (done it yesterday before realising that I was too early by a day) would drive my other half nuts. Gotta register, it sends you a stupid confirmation email with a "security code" several times, of course your password must be uber complicated and so on. Knowing my dear partner, he'd lose that password within a month so I'll just pretend to be him and get it all done.

So can't wait to see that the actual form is buggy to top it all off. Sounds like a true government nightmare- will report back once I've tried!

I think you can use one account to fill out ATD's for multiple people but yes I agree the system is nuts, more secure than my online banking with one-time email pins just to login.

I've completed mine for Monday arrival. While not the simplest process I didn't encounter bugs or errors.

Whereas Victoria travel permit application does not handle my situation well at all and required multiple workarounds in consultation with online chat/help.

Just booked yet another trip AKL-OOL, that fare is just too good.

Does anyone know how this will work in OOL, never taken an international flight from there before. Will you just enter through the normal security and then move onto a separate international gate or is there a proper "international"part of the terminal? Can I use the domestic QF lounge or is that out of the question? Is there Duty Free?

Auckland duty free would be cheaper anyway!

Got mine done today too, but with no issues - confirmation email received. The Aust online declaration was still requesting confirmation of 14 days in NZ prior to departure, so maybe Monday for that one.

Is there anything in the confirmation email that was not showing on the screen with reference number and status? I did a printout of that screen when I noticed the email didn't come through straight away. Hours later I still don't have the email.

Edited to add: I found the email confirmation in my spam folder.

The detail in the email is confirmation number, name, passport number, flight number & date of arrival. Same as print out?

Yes same. Now that I've found the email the only difference is formatting.

They've got a phone number - 131 881

That for Home Affairs people who run this form however it's only 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday. My guess is that the problem is now not going to be fixed until Monday.

I filled out a feedback form last week when I first noticed it however no response back (not surprised).

Qantas sent me a text reminding me of the need to complete the Australia travel declaration at least 72 hours before departure. Only problem is the text was sent much less than 72 hours prior to departure (or arrival into Australia).

I've completed mine for Monday arrival. While not the simplest process I didn't encounter bugs or errors.

Just completed the forms for myself and my better half. Besides the insane security settings, no further issues and no bugs. Then realised with surprise that the NSW arrival form can only be completed from 24 hours prior to departure. Sigh.

But I try not to moan too much- after over a year, finally traveling back home is worth almost any hassle in my eyes!

Home affairs says you can be in either country for 14 days.

Quarantine free travel between Australia and New Zealand will commence at 21:59 AEST on 18 April 2021. All travellers who have been in either Australia or New Zealand for 14 days can travel by air between Australia and New Zealand quarantine free, without the need to apply for a travel exemption.

This includes travellers who have spent all 14 days in either safe travel zone country, or people who have travelled between the two countries and are returning within the 14 day period.

I hope those that are booked to go this coming week are starting to get excited. Even just having the ability to travel to NZ makes it feel like maybe we are on the way back to normality. Now if only they would add Cook Islands.

So what does a returning traveller do with less than 14 days in Australia? Hopefully this will change.
