So what's your feel of the UK? A bit on the quite side or back to busy normal?

What Covid? Pubs on Thursday night were pumping. Not so much Friday night. Maybe a Brit thing.

Also remember that in a fortnight it's the full on Platinum celebration so the streets are jammed because most of the important Westminister ones (Royal) are completely closed. Which makes walking around a breeze unless you realise you are on the wrong side and barricaded out.

Was speaking with an American couple who were going on a cruise today around the UK. Loyal Princess Cruises. They only have to test negative before they board. I told them about Vikings Policy about testing every day and kicking people off if positive. They were shocked and while they had been thinking of trying out Viking they wouldn't while that was happening. It's also funny how some high status cruisers always manage to weave their status into the discussion. 😂.

Well Dame, @love_the_life - Mr P just tidied the room up at your request so here is the room.

Separate shower and toilet off the bathroom which is very handy. The shower is behind the door with the towel but opens outward. The rain shower on full bore is so full on it's quite exhausting 😂 There is a bath adjacent to the toilet door. Good for drying wet umbrellas 😉

Directly outside the bathroom is this little space that has the closest plug to the bathroom for drying hair.

The TV is in this glass screen facing the bed. Haven't turned it on.

Looking from the end of the room near the bed towards that space and bathroom heavy door on the far left.

And this is Monty. The Conrad British Bulldog. Need to ask for them and one was just delivered.

Today I will be offline as we are heading off shortly on a train from Charing Cross to Tunbridge Wells to see our son and DIL.

Yep, that was our take back in March “what Covid?”! It was noticeable quieter mid March but was getting back to pre-C crowds by early May.

A lot of Brits finish work around lunchtime Fridays and bugga off. Hence Thursday night drinks are the “Friday night” thing. I learnt early on to never schedule a Friday arvo work meeting in the UK (let alone expect too many people to be in the office on a Friday - and that was pre-C)….

Walked around 20 minutes just now to Charing Cross railway. Huge police presence and police trucks and so on. It’s a pre Jubilee full on practice for Trooping of the Colour. Gorgeous Day for it. Our paths were blocked numerous times by barriers.

That field I asked about a while back is where the main arena is and crowds were filing in.

Yep. It’s a train station.

Nothing much else to report from yesterday - other than the fact we got to personally hug and congratulate new DIL and son on their marriage. Nothing much to report - hell - that's the reason why we are here! 😂

We went to a bottomless buffet for lunch. The bottomless wasn't for food but booze! coughtails and Prosecco. Oi vey. Fully recovered this morning

Have you asked them about children yet ? ;)
Not going to happen. I've been told months ago. 😂

So, where was I. Yesterday. A couple of pictures of the Shard from the windows of the train to Tunbridge Wells. Trains seem quite nice but being Sat morning not crowded. We were late coming back to London and caught the train that the sweet young things catch into London for a big night out. Oh my. No wastage in the materials called dresses these days. Yesterday being Sunday and it was a brilliant weather day. Cool to start but t-shirts within an hour or so. We played monopoly tourists starting at the hotel and there to StJames gardens and then Hyde Park.

Well to be fair we don't see Koalas and Kangaroos and Platypus in our city parks - just binchooks and pigeons.

But I get more excited when you see something more exotic like a Coati stealing someones lunch in Brazil.
