Typo, 12 month status extension, or just normal?

Hmmm ... very interesting. Madame arraitch's year ends 30th June; (just checked) status shows:

Current Status: Gold
Status reassessment will occur: 30 Jun 2013
Status credits earned from 01 Jul 2011: 330
Additional Status credits required by 30 Jun 2012 to attain Platinum: 1,070

Surely 330 SCs is a very long way short of a complimentary Gold retention? If so, is QF taking it up to DJ/feeling the heat/having a systems meltdown? :o

Hmm,
If QF is wanting a status war with DJ, surely they'd be better offering more rewards to those with status, rather than making it a lot easier to gain or maintain status.

The end-game for an easy path to status is a watering down of status itself: more crowded lounges, less favourable seat allocation, longer queues in dedicated security lanes, etc... therefore making DJ more appealing to FF'ers.

I was retained 1 year with 0. The following year I made sure QF's decision was worth it.

Interestingly. Mine shows 2013 too.

But you have already requalified for the next membership year, meaning that they will reassess you at the end of the next membership year as per normal.

Whenever you qualify or requalify for a respective status level, you get the status for the rest of the current year plus the next one. So depending on your travel patterns you could get anywhere from 12 months and one day to ~23 months from one "earning".

This is me:

Current Status: Platinum

Status reassessment will occur: 30 Jun 2013

Status credits earned from 01 Jul 2011: 1,825

Additional Status credits required by 30 Jun 2012 to receive
additional Platinum privileges 575

We can't answer the OP's question without any more info (if you can post the breakdown as a few of us have, then that would help).. ie what level you are now, how many SCs earned etc..

True, but as simongr noted, his is still showing 2012.

I take your point v8Statesman, but with a Gold status of a mere two years and lifetime SCs of only 2,030, I rather suspect that her PCV may be lower than yours!

Did she earn it originally? Or PG?

Below is Mini Statesman (Berlina?? ;) )

It was earned, but prior to that she held only QC. As SFLTs, PG has never been on the horizon in the arraitch household! OTOH, Berlina's shiny status presumably derives from your own. So, I remain puzzled about the Gold retention.

How long has she been a QFF member? They may look at lifetime average yearly SCs and take that into account.. other than that there is a lot that we don't know and probably never will, as far as QFF decides on comping and whatnot...

Are you sure? Here's mine, why doesn't it read Status Reassessment will occur 31 Dec 2013?
Status reassessment occurs ~8 weeks before actual reassessment date. So I would expect the following scenarios on 05 November 2012

- Status reassessment 31 Dec 2013 and not enough SCs. (Comped)
- Status reassessment 31 Dec 2013 and enough SCs. (System has acknowledged you have re-qualified)
- Status reassessment 31 Dec 2012 and not enough SCs. (Have not been comped buy you still have until 31 Dec 2012 to re-qualify)

That's fairly rare, it's common for comps these days to not receive any notice other than the ticker resetting on the anniversary date or a day or two later and no status change. The decision may have been made two months prior, the outcome not being visible to the member at that time.

Anything to do with the past years average?

Mine:

Current Status: Platinum Status reassessment will occur: 31 Jul 2012
Status credits earned from 01 Aug 2011: 3,450

Different from OP. I have reached 1200 requalification mark early April. Passed 2400 by early May.

Hit 2400 yesterday and still showing as 2012... Maybe they can see my future bookings will hit P1 ;)

Glad I am not the only one...

But I could not hit P1 now since I have no further booking. I'd prefer them to extend my membership year now.
