Gave them a go last year - was impossible to get a taxi or ride share accepted. Seems like the google+ of these apps (a ghost town), likely just created to turn people off using any of these apps. Will be good when lyft and others come to town.

I used GoCatch a few times earlier this year to catch a taxi - most times I was able to get a taxi, but a couple of times I was in the middle of the city with taxis flying past, but nobody accepted within the app. I would delete it, but in QLD the lower CC surcharge through this app (plus the benefit of QFF points and electronic receipts) makes it worth it.

So from what you are saying, it'd be the same price as a taxi but with a lower CC surcharge (have taxi's adjusted the surcharge with the latest regulations like the airlines have or not?) and with the added issue of "taxis flying past but not accepting the app", however you can gain a few FF points?

If so, it's not an overly compelling argument to give them a try!

I downloaded gocatch and couldn't even create an account, app just wasn't letting me. Straight to delete!

I've used go catch a few times. Bit painful setting up the account but I take a few taxis so thought it was worthwhile pursuing. Never had any issues with pick ups. Points post ok.

I've only used Uber in AKL actually. Happy with it. But I use go catch app in Oz. I should probably try Uber at some point there.
