mr_matt_t,
In relation to eligible flights the QF website states the following:-

9.4 Points Are Not Earned on All Flights
9.4.1 Points are not earned for travel on:
(a) flights or booking classes that are excluded, as specified in the Airline Earning Table;
(b) infant fares unless travelling in their own paid seat;
(c) charter flights;
(d) freighter flights;
(e) free tickets, including tickets issued as Award Flights or rewards, including through other award programs;
(f) travel industry rebated tickets;
(g) competition prize tickets;
(h) transport other than air transport unless specified by Qantas;
(i) tickets acquired at an auction; or
(j) tickets which are subject to any specific provisions excluding the accumulation of Points.

However, check your activity after your AMEX flight and you will see that it also earns points. My flight with AMEX from Sydney to Perth earned 2,041 points and 20 status credits.

As stated before. Mine have always earned points and SC. I also paid extra to book into "S". Then used 16K to fly "U"

Too much information appearing here :!: :shock: :evil:

Ok, I decided to go for the upgrade to the ultimate card & sent the form off to Amex. I got a letter today thanking me for my enquiry re the Amex Platinum card??????????? I looked at their site & there doesn't appear much difference between the two, but why have they changed cards on me mid flight??

Officially they do not earn SC's or points. If you happen to get them, that is a bonus.
