And if you go to Kings Canyon, take something to swim in. There is a really nice spot that is super refreshing.
The time of year I was there I just swam in my shorts. 10 minutes later everything was dry!
From memory, even though it was January, I was there too early in the morning (having been up on the rim at sunrise) and the sun hadn't hit that area yet, so it was quite cold. Decided against a swim.
