Booking a SYD-PER directly on the Virgin website today, and was unable to select a seat at all. (I'm SG)
I hadn't seen this message before:

I could select the outbound PER-SYD, but not this one.
Thinking it's one of two things:
1) This flight is currently showing as a 737, maybe VA aren't 100% sure of that, and it could swap to A330?
2) Work experience kids have given the website an enhancement.

Ever seen it before, with any clues as to why?

Assume that it is the A330vs 737 question.

I’ve had A330 swapped to 737 on me more than a few times, glad that this looks like it’s in the process of happening the other way around!

I've also had the A330 to B737 Perth - Sydney swap happen. The Friday afternoon flight ended up being canned as they couldn't use the long runway at PER and couldn't get the weight on the B737 down to be able to take off on the short one! Got bumped to the red-eye for an arrival the next day.
