Unable to select Stansted

Good morning, I want to fly into Stanstead (hopefully on a classic rewards) BUT Stanstead isn’t on the ‘drop’ down, and won’t accept it manually. I know Emirates fly there and going via Skyscanner I can book via Qantas, but then I don’t get the opportunity to get a classic reward or use points? Any ideas anyone? Also I think I have read correctly on here, if I get a flight which is Emirates codeshare, I cannot use points to request an upgrade? Thanks everyone, your knowledge is invaluable 😊😊

If it isn't available online, you will need to call Qantas to book to use points. You can ask them to waive the fee since you can't do it online.

Can't use QF points to upgrade on an EK flight as far as I know.

I can see London Stanstead when I search from Dubai, but when I search from Adelaide it doesn’t give me the option of just London, makes me select Gat/Lhr etc? I’m obviously doing something wrong

That could be some married segment nonsense. QF may not have filed a CR ‘fare’ ADL-DXB-STN

Annoying I know, but if you can see ADL-DXB and DXB-STN on the dates you want then you should be able to call and ticket it.

Try searching London Heathrow after October:

Surely you'd be better off flying to LHR and then getting the train (or whatever).

A380 vs 777. Not sure why anyone would want to fly to STN (even if you're heading to Essex, Herts or Cambs).

Although I believe STN is one of the handful of routes with the new 777… 1-1-1 in F and vastly improved business class.

Apparently Emirates is building a dedicated lounge which will make departures for eligables much better. The current share lounge is very crowded.
Also BA is starting flights to Florence, Nice and Ibiza from there in the northern summer.

When your arriving off a long flight your not usually hanging around the airport anyways, get off the plane, go through immigration, collect bags and leave. Don't think the arrival airport matters too much.

On departure a different story.
