Hi all

Booked QR J award flights SYD to LHR back in August 2019. Eticket was issued by Qantas no problem.

Tonight i just got an unexpected and unexplained eticket emailed to me from Qantas. I have noticed the flight arrival time in Doha has changed by 15 minutes. This is not a concern. However, I also noticed that the eticket numbers are different to the ticket I got in August.

Is there any explanation for this? Is this normal when the flight time changes? The email was just the standard Qantas "here is your eticket" email.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

I just got reissued tickets from QF for QR SYD-DOH, 5 min change in departure time. Also received separate email same time advising. Booked Aug19 for travel Aug20.
maybe change due to A350 instead of B777 filtering through?

Standard in experience.

I eventually got an email from Qantas advising of the time change. We are on the a380 flight SYD to DOH and it arrives in DOH at 530am instead of 515am now.

Still curious if this is what caused the eticket numbers to change? Is that normal? I don't normally take much notice of the eticket number.

Good jibe!
Take away the space between in and experience, either from QF or from QR.
Maybe though, this is their only way of making flies aware of what is happening, rather than some other way.
Wasn't there too, a fake QR etix scam going around.
But as you do have bookings with QR, so this is not a scam.
But I do remember, a few months ago, that I had received a QR exix in my email box, but I didn't make any QR flight bookings, and at that time, my QFF account was under 5k, so no one would have been able to use my points to book travel.

Every time one of my international flights on QF has changed (either QF initiated or self initiated), I have been reissued with a new e-ticket number.

Domestic changes however are usually issued on the same e-ticket.

I'm only guessing here but it may have to do with the way Qantas forward on APIS data to the various authorities. It may be necessary to notify the authorities under a new e-ticket rather than an existing one. Similar reason to why a name change requires reissue.

For a time change, there should be no new ticket number unless the flight number of one of the flights also changed. QR have been going through a wave of schedule changes (5-15mins) lately but the flight numbers have not changed for the ones I’ve seen.

There is no need to reissue a ticket for a 5min time change, unless there has been a flight number change. But as we know, QF often just does things.

OK this makes me feel better. It's probably fine then. This QR award flight just makes me nervous, I keep waiting for something to get cancelled or for us to get downgraded or something. I won't breathe easy until we are in our business class seats and the plane has taken off 😂

QF auto reissues schedule changes, even though it's completely unnecessary.
