A week after the previous post above, UA98 on Monday 24 July is likely to arrive MEL at 0841 hours, 76 minutes late with B789 N35953. The scheduled 0925 hours UA99 back to LAX will be unable to depart until at least 1000.

Tuesday 25 July's UA839, the scheduled 2225 hours LAX - SYD (B789 N13954) did not become airborne until 0004 hours on Wednesday 26 so Thursday 27 arrival looks to be 0744 hours, 59 minutes behind schedule.

On Saturday 29 July, due to windy conditions in Melbourne, UA98, the Thursday 27 LAX - MEL (B789 N35953) diverted to SYD. UA99, the 0925 hours MEL - LAX has been cancelled.

One assumes passengers booked on UA99 may be travelling per domestic flight(s) to SYD where tonight's flight may originate.

Wind gusts at MEL were as high as 104kmh at 1100 but have since slightly moderated to 85 - 93kmh. Wind is from the north.

As UA99 back to LAX is not scheduled to depart until 1025, it may be able to do so very close to time, again showing how wise it is for international airlines (where arrival and departure slots are available) to timetable a turnaround for more than the minimum achievable time.

UA870 today on the united app showing a diversion to Honolulu, anyone know what's going on here? Arrival in SFO slated at 0710, which is on time, even with the diversion. Showing time on ground at honolulu of just over an hour. Flightradar24 seems to think it's still going direct.
