I dont know the exact number but I paid about $USD300 return 2.5 years ago from sydney so would be a little bit more now.

Alternatively, if you have status with other airlines, you can do status match challenge to get Gold or Platinum for 90 days and get free economy plus. MEL - LAX return alone will help you complete Gold challenge.
thanks for that, looks United could be an option

I have booked Econ + for our holiday departing Boxing day SYD to SFO then on to Vancouver and Kamloops for the Sun Peaks Ski trip. I have never flown United outside of the US but chose this trip because it was the only airline I could get to Kamloops on the one ticket at a high but still reasonable price.

I am wondering just how full would you expect the flight to be on Boxing Day, there are five of us so I booked the three middle seats in the centre plus the two isle seats in front of these in the hope that no one would be sat between us (who pays extra to sit between two people). I am assuming if there is someone we can suggest they sit on the Isle.

I am dreading the flight I am used to QF PE or Business to the US, but I guess I will have to just get over that.

I am also wondering if anyone has had issues with ski bags on these flights.
