The one sold on the AFF store is this model from Jackson Industries. The eBay unit seems like a very cheap Asian copy, and also has one USB port instead of the two on the Jackson model.

Further, the Jackson model also offers full surge protection, an on/off switch (so you can leave it in place but not draw vampire power), tested against Australian Standards, and offers a full manufacturers warranty for the reasonable life of the unit. And of course they're an Australian company if you want to go all nationalistic.

I've used their power products for years, and have never had a thing go wrong with one. However, I prefer to use travel adaptors which have their own fuse as a secondary layer of protection, and I note that neither unit seems to come with a separate fuse.

So what travel adapter do you use and got a link\place to buy it?

The ebay one says: "and the adapter includes replaceable power protection fuses."

Universal Travel adapter...anyone got\used this one?

Universal World Travel Adapter Converter plug USB Wall Charger FREE EXPRESS SHIP | eBays this fine with a high powered laptop?
Can a powerboard be attached to it?

Regards

Re: Universal Travel adapter...anyone got\used this one?

Looks like the one in the QF Duty Free catalogue. If it is then yes, in my opinion, it is good. I have a couple that I always travel with, even in Australia, if only for the USB charger. :)

Re: Universal Travel adapter...anyone got\used this one?

Got two. Very handy. Especially for something like my recent Russia trip with a 7hr layover in HKG - didn't need to think about multiple adapters in my carryon.

Re: Universal Travel adapter...anyone got\used this one?

I have bought ones like this:

Universal Travel AC Power Charger Adapter All In One Plug AU UK EU US New | eBay

But witha US slot as well I think for about $8 delivered.

I have one very similar to the one above. Been very happy with it too.

However, in South Africa some places it wouldn't plug into the wall because the England style plug was slightly different. From memory the top holes were slightly wider than my adapter.

Re: Universal Travel adapter...anyone got\used this one?

Only country I have had an issue has been India.

+1 to all said by TH. Grabbed one on a flight to LA earlier this year and it worked a treat.

I have this one also and often connect a double powerpoint to charge laptop, phone, ebook etc. Never had a problem.

Go you one better :p. I used the OP's type with a double adapter plugged in. In one outlet of the DA I had a second plug that contained a powerpoint and two USB ports in one. This left me with two power points and two USB ports! What overload??? :p:oops::oops:

OK with Ipod, Ipad, Iphone, but wait till you try your Iron !

Re: Universal Travel adapter...anyone got\used this one?

Should that be iPod, iPad, iPhone and iRon

It should but being born long before the technological age I am easily confused !:oops::oops:

(I remember when the milkman had a horse and cart, operator connected phone calls, no television, and commercial aircraft with props with pilots
who loaded the luggage.)

Re: Universal Travel adapter...anyone got\used this one?

I got the adapter...delivered in 2 days via express post at $8 in stamps!
The USB is like an attachment on this adapter which could be an issue storing\carrying...everything looks like it should work...now to try it out!
