Hi there,

is there a good way to get unlimited (or reasonable) mileage with any of the major rental companies in the NT? Ideally through a freely available Avis AWD or the like. Looking to rent for a few days from DRW and 100km a day seems a bit low. Found some smaller places with unlimited kms but would prefer one of the larger chains for simplicity.

Cheers!

Thanks, I should have searched before posting. To add my experience, I made a reservation with Avis through a 3rd party website that includes unlimited mileage. Rate is about $60 per day more expensive than directly through Avis (with 100km per day) so you do the math.

In many cases, it's not worth paying the huge premium for unlimited kms.

I actually split my rentals in two separate reservations, picking up the unlimited one to go out to Katherine and back. Not to mention double the miles :p
