If there aint pics then it never really happened right? So best I post some pics huh?

Firstly we had a toast to AFF's first and only betrothed couple - blackcat20 and TommyVexille:

and Tommy recently snuck off to Hawaii to tie the knote - again on behalf of the ADD community the heartiest of congratulations to the both of you.

Tommy - I am still trying to work the name on that napkin you requested to reserve the seat next to you - are you going to give us any clues?

Pretty legible methinks.

Would have loved to join in the toast to TomKat.

So here we have 1 Angel and 2 Scoundrels - who can pick the Angel?

Some attendees were fully immersed in the fellowship of the evening - others .......... well ............. they clearly had more important things to attend to:

Now after a skinful of Champagne one can only wonder at the quality of content of this conversation:

Hey Goodonya - look here - penegal found that elusive prawn that you lost 3 years ago in Topolinos:

penegal received his long overdue Birthday Gift from his recently celebrated 48th bday - I have been saving this for you mate:

And as he was totally unappreciative of the expensive gift I purchased for him I felt only fitting thing to do was to save him the effort of actually having to open it and drink it:

And again - the total damage done on the evening:

Viridianne
has very kindly offered to provide extensive tasting notes on each Champagne - we await with eager anticipation!

Again a big thank you to penegal for arranging the evening and special thanks to all who attended - especially our interstate visitors who basically flew in for this function - what a wonderful effort!

Wow. What a great evening, pity I missed it. Hopefully next time

Thanks for organising, penegal, and hosting, Cruiser Elite! Congrats again to the newly wed couple! Lovely to see familiar faces from last year! I'm inclined to visit Melbourne more often.

I slept through 3 alarms and nearly missed my flight. But I made it to meet Chris Hemsworth this morning. Fantastic weekend, thanks everyone!!

Well that's the second time I have failed to show up, there won't be a third failure (family and travel excuses aside). Looks like everyone had a good night, hope to introduce my self personally at the next one.

How remiss of me not to mention the other fabulous news to come out of last night - on the quiet boomy has become engaged to his gorgeous better half Mimi - congratulations to you both and we will share another bottle of Champers when the 2 of you can next get to MEL.

Some help from the experts please - sending a large bottle of bubbles to a friend in England for his 50th - one of the options is Ruinart - any thoughts?
Other options are Veuve, LP, LR, Moet and Bollinger.

I did rather enjoy the Ruinart that I've had. Keeping in mind that with all champagnes (and other food/drink) taste is subjective, I would rank your list as Ruinart/Bollinger > LR > LP > Veuve > Moet

Bazzi I think you would acquire it in the U.K.and send it locally. Moët and Veuve are ok. Krug is my favourite but pretty pricey.

Oh and do you know what your friend likes Bazzi? That might help to suggest which is the best fit.

Beat me to it. Buy online from a UK merchant with a gift wrapping service (or just give them a heads up it is coming). It would probably cost you more than the cost of the wine to ship it from AU.

Thanks guys. Sorry, I wasn't very clear - I am sending via UK supplier. I've tried all the others but not the Ruinart. Not sure if he has a favourite but, as it will be a surprise, I don't think he'll mind what I send.
