For those in the market for a new toaster:

Limited time only: Earn up to 50 bonus Status Credits
For the first time ever, enjoy bonus Status Credits when you shop before 4 November 2021. Simply use a minimum of:

20,000 points and earn 10 bonus Status Credits

40,000 points and earn 20 bonus Status Credits

60,000 points and earn 30 bonus Status Credits

80,000 points and earn 40 bonus Status Credits

100,000 points and earn 50 bonus Status Credits

Points can be redeemed multiple times throughout the campaign, with the bonus Status Credits awarded on the total points redeemed during the campaign period (for example, if a member places 3 orders over the campaign period each worth 20,000 points, the total points used is 60,000 and the member would be eligible for 30 Status Credits). Bonus Status Credits will be awarded based on the actual number of points used during the campaign period. Bonus Status Credits will not be awarded to orders under the minimum points threshold (20,000 points) or on returned or cancelled orders. Any order over 100,000 Qantas Points will only be eligible for 50 bonus Status Credits in total. A maximum of 50 bonus Status Credits can be earned per customer throughout the campaign period. Bonus Status Credits will be awarded within 8 weeks of the promotion end date and will be backdated to 8 November 2021. Bonus Status Credits will be reviewed within 8 weeks following the campaign and in the event of product returns or cancellations, Status Credits will be deducted. Bonus Status Credits earned from this offer do not count towards Loyalty Bonus, Platinum Bonus Reward, Platinum One Bonus Reward and Status Accelerator/Challenge earn requirements. Bonus Status Credits are not transferable and will be governed by the Qantas Frequent Flyer terms and conditions.

Looks like no lifetime status exemption in the T&Cs

Very interesting. For those who are PC, I imagine spending the equivalent amount on flights might yield similar (or even more) SCs, and have a bonus flight thrown in i.e. PER<>MEL in X = 15 scs, 18k points.
Of course there's copayments involved to consider as well, and one has to assume you can actually do that per<>mel flight!

This is a great deal. Leaning heavily toward undertaking this.

Baseline comparison I am using is 5x CBR-SYD-MEL (J) for 92000 QFFP + $445 in taxes netting 180SC. Cheapest gift card I can find costs 90650 QFFP and nets $500 in value and 45SC. So spend $445 and get 2.5 trips to Melbourne as well as extra 135SC, or gain $500 and be content with 45SC and a lot more convenience and (makes me sad to say this) less risk with border transits.

for those who will be quick to point out that there is no earn 45SC option, I am scaling to fit QFFP costs as closely as possible.

Can't see anything that says gift card spend isn't counted. Also amazed at how bad the digital mastercard cost is compared to the more "restrictive cards". Price of convenience I suppose

Hmm....

EDIT : Qantas digital gift cards even cheaper @ 87000QFFP for $500 value.

The other variable to think about here is that a lot of people have inflated points balances at the moment. As hard as it is to part with points at the conversion rate in the store, if you are points rich the SCs might just help to tip it back into a less regretful conversion of points to money (via GC).

I am undecided as to whether I will take advantage of this, I have seen no travel for a long time as a Melbournian and with a heavily pregnant partner I don't see any immediate travel on the horizon, and I could use the LTSC, so I'm 50/50.

Just received the email this morning. Something about 5% discount on top of PC discount (which I have but never redeemed points for toasters).

I might do some sums on QF Wine but as pointed out earlier, flight redemptions are probably better value as PC/PC+.

Perhaps I'm missing something here but could someone explain what the point of the promotion is? QF store redemptions tend to be fairly poor value for money (~0.5 cent per point) compared to some of the redemptions one can get on QF flights (e.g. SYD > LDH which works out to around 7-9 cents per point). Sure you do get some status credits for redemption, but given the international borders have reopened, I reckon there will be far more economical and enjoyable ways to earn said status credits to maintain status.

A lot of people have lost half of their status year of flying. Right now there are very few people who could fly intl... Yes, this is changing for some states soon but that is still 6 months lost for those of us with Jul anniversary not covered by the latest statuskeeper.

So it's effectively an opportunity to buy SCs. For me the way I have chosen to look at it is this:

200,000 Woolworths reward points would net me 1,000 dollars off a shop, or 100,000 QFF points that would give me 500 in vouchers, effectively costing 500 for 50SCs (and is an effective 0.5c valuation per point).

So then the question is does an SC boost on ground of $10 per SC make sense. It is on the high side and is probably not worth it, but if you have lots of points and could do with the LTSC or are unlikely to maintain status without it, it remains an option.

I don't understand the T&Cs, which state "Bonus Status Credits will be awarded within 8 weeks of the promotion end date and will be backdated to 8 November 2021."

So if your membership has a Nov anniversary (only next month), do you effectively "lose" the SCs 22 days after "earning" them ? If so, people with Nov anniversaries will only take advantage of this offer if the SCs they earn lets them train their status ?

Correct; and it's good they are calling this out.

There’s nothing saying they won’t roll over if eligible for roll over though?

So if you’ve booked your single flight, and have 30 Nov anniversary date they should roll over, unless I’m completely misunderstanding the roll over promo.

Depends when you earned your status. If your current status expiry is 30 Nov, then you meet the rollover criteria. If you only earned status this year, such as through the fast track, your expiry is 30 nov 2022, and you don't get rollover.
Or at least, that's what's happened for me with the BP promotion. Have enquired but have not had a response yet.

Sure, but it was probably planned before the reopening. I also know several people that would not normally redeem in the store do so over the last few months. Vouchers, webers, all sorts of stuff.

Unfortunate timing for me. I spent some points to purchase some Esteele pans earlier this month when they were about 40% off. Then again, I am not currently in need of earning SCs which would just sit there until expiring at next anniversary as I require 0 SC to retail Gold status each year and I am not expecting to earn enough SCs from the various methods available to exceed Gold in the current membership year.

Has anyone any experience of ordering from the Qantas Rewards Store from overseas? I'm based in the UK, and I'm assuming that they won't ship physical goods outside Australia.

I looked at some of the digital giftcards, but the most useful to me i.e. Digital Mastercard/Visa or Card Network seemed to need an Australian address. I haven't gone all the way through the process, but it looks like the Qantas digital gift voucher doesn't appear to need an Australian address, but it seems to only be able to be used for flights originating in Australia.

The Woolworths Digital Card likewise seems to be able to be ordered without an Australian address, but I don't think there is anything I can order from Woolworths for overseas delivery.

Is anyone aware of any better options that might be useful to me overseas?

Not really related to this thread, but does anyone know how long it usually takes for points earned from purchases on the Rewards Store to be credited to your Qantas account? I've made a couple of purchases on Qantas Wine and Rewards Store recently and received all points including bonus points for the Wines but nothing yet on my Reward Store purchases.

Wine is super fast. Qantas shop can take months. You should be able to track the state of those points when logged in qantas shopping.

Thanks Chris, however I was refering to the Qantas Rewards Store (Qantas Rewards Store | Shop Online - Use or Earn Points) where you are able to earn points when paying via "points + pay".
My bad, I didnt know points could be earned when using points plus pay on the reward store, so I assumed it was the Qantas shop site. Good to know!

Hopefully someone here has experience on how long it take to get those points
