An Accor newbie question.

Is it possible to book via MrRebates and still be eligible for this promotion?

No - any earn in LC has to be booked directly, preferably online (last 4 direct email reservation I've done this year has required a manual claim) :(

For those who don't suffer fools gladly, Le Club is definetely not for you!

Thanks yohy?!.

I am considering 3 bookings worth ~AUD200 so not going to risk losing EUR160 for ~AUD12 rebate. ;)

No unfortunately according to the T&C's:

7. The stay must be booked online (via Accorhotels.com or one of our brand websites participating in the Le Club Accorhotels programme), via our mobile applications or by calling the Accor Bookings Centre. Other booking channels are not eligible for this offer.

Use the 'connect' radio button on the right hand side of this page: http://www.accorhotels.com/gb/leclub/hotels-offers/promotion-38658-promotion.shtml

I am not going to argue but doesn't MrRebates load up Accorhotels.com? I don't understand the difference.

Possibly yield management issues? Often Agoda etc are much cheaper so they may be protecting and guaranteeing profit margins by enforcing punters to use Accor booking channels.

Possibly and acceptable. But I got rather annoyed when I booked via a third party a couple of years ago and then Accor dropped the price to about 20% less than what I paid. I was annoyed at being denied points when they would have got more money from me than they were prepared to accept themselves for the same room.

Acknowledged that I made a poor choice, but still....

20% ouch! Seems I've been lucky so far. I generally use the main Accor website. I've found booking using the hotel branded website can be more expensive. Sofitel is a prime example. I can save between $20-$60 by avoiding their website. Although I will always compare them to see where the best deal can be had.

I think Accor regard all other booking options as third party sites.

I agree with JohnK on this one, while you get to the Accor site via the Rebate site the booking itself is made on an Accot site NOT a third party site.

I'm not familiar with that site tbh. Hopefully someone can test it and report back. But from what you've both mentioned it seems plausible.

I have had confirmation from someone on Flyertalk that bookings made via MrRebates or Ebates are eligible for the promotion. Both these sites take you to the Accor website to complete the booking but I am assuming have an IATA code in the booking for commission purposes.

The same happens with IHG hotels.

I think I will have a look at the Flyertalk thread to try and work out what is going on.
