Oh, I didn’t intend to pick on him specifically, it was just badly done. I’m sure someone at filming would have noticed immediately, so I just question why it wasn’t fixed. At last it’s gone.

Not entirely, just got off VZO - old safety video.

Has the horrible music and all the Qantas advertising, such as showing lounges etc, gone? It would be much better if they just focused on on the safety and didn't use it as a brand building exercise.

Music has changed but the vision from the start is the same..

Well, a lot of the fast paced action stuff from the previous video has been significantly reduced (or gone?). Mostly it goes straight from "Spirit of Safety" to our welcoming captain.

It was definitely there yesterday..

I didn't notice this on any of my flights today, AKL-SYD, SYD-PER, PER-KGI. But i did see the international one has an extra note at the end regarding DVT..

Im back in the air on Sunday so hopefully I'll get to notice the changes then..

I try to watch the video and look at the crew every time - it was hard though yesterday as I was falling asleep during the taxi...

Me also, I think it is disrespectful to the crew not to, no matter how much anyone knows (or thinks they know) the procedure. I figure I can never know it well enough. But it's quite surprising how many people just go on reading their newspapers or performing some other activity and take no notice of the crew/video whatsoever.

And the bit about "we know you know how to operate a seatbelt" doesn't bother me in the slightest.

I'm the same, I'll usually stop what I'm doing and listen, as you say, you can never know this stuff too well if in the unlikely event you'll need to know it.

As for the seatbelt bit, well that sounds either like a lawyer said "put it in there, that way there are no excuses from the pax" or some aviation reg insists such messages are included.

It's a legal requirement. you must explain the seatbelt workings (among everything else in the brief)

Finally saw the new video today, quite liked it. Good use of pauses, but not really long ones like the old intro.
