I have requested an upgrade on QF021 on 24 Dec from SYD to NRT, just wondering if anyone who is a member of expert-flyer could check out what the load looks like to see what my chances are.

Thanks a lot,
Julian

hmmmm, i would have guessed it would have been a very empty flight based on dates but it appears not.
Generally you would find almost no business load due to work trips and holiday makers generally fly economy so upgrades should have a reasonable chance i would think. but then again only showing D1 I1 so who knows.

Getting closer now.. so just wondering if someone can check expert flyer again to see what the load looks like for the flight to determine my chances of an upgrade

Cheers,
Julian

Based on the fact there is a lot more in D and I classes as well as and openeing up in the whY cabin of L and V i would guess its especially not looking busy up the front.

Seat map is showing 23 free seats (19 open, 4 blocked), so only 13 currently occupied in J.

So maybe you will be in luck, Last year i managed upgrades on this flight without issues at all. Around this date, i cant remember exactly when but i think 26th.

Couple of days till i leave, so could someone check again what the load is looking like so i can gauge my chances of getting an upgrade. QF021 on 24 Dec from SYD to NRT.

Cheers.

Can you please let us know if you are successful in your upgrade request. Thank you.

I have just sponsored a Y-J QF points upgrade for a family member leaving london today bound for Australia. Unfortunately, the upgrade has only got him into Premium Economy - the business waitlist has disappeared and he is confirmed into premium economy.

Having said that, it is probably lucky given that seatcounter was (prior to today) showing C5D5J6 T2W2. It is now showing J3 T1W1.

I just checked seatcounter and the LHR to Aust flight today is showing A7 F7 and every other fare bucket is showing 0 so this flight will be packed other than in First.

ended up getting the upgrade... very happy. Have also requested upgrade for QF 022 Narita-Syd at 22:00. Could someone check the load on that flight to check my chances on seatcounter??

As mentioned earlier - Seatcounter is free to use, and provides reliable results as to loads on flights.

ExpertFlyer gives similar information and has some advantages in areas, but based on previous posts on this thread, I suggest you should be able to work out what your chances are.
