Can anybody with access to the system let me know my chances of getting an upgrade (using points) on QF841 Darwin - Sydney on 23 JUN 06.

The help would be much appreciated - it won't let me try yet as I've just booked it and it is not yet confirmed.

I'm QC Silver but it's first in best dressed for these, isn't it?

I just realised I'll be on the first QF841 for the year.

Domestic upgrade, so it's grab the upgrade if you see it available.

No availability to upgrade at the moment. No chance of waitlisting for this, so you'll have to keep monitoring, or go for a Pre-departure upgrade if you have Qantas Club access.

The aircraft is planned to be a 737-800, so not that many J class seats. Although at the moment, it's pretty empty.

I don't quite understand that if there's no availability now, how is there going to be any in the future?

People book award seats, cancel them, Qantas Yield Management releases more seats etc.

Closer to the departure date, Qantas may release more if the flight is not selling J seats.

So just because there are none available tonight, it doesn't mean one will not mysteriously appear tomorrow morning.
