I originally posted this earlier around 4:30am but deleted it as I didn't want it to be seen like bragging but, unbelievably, the upgrade came through!


However, there aren't seat numbers allocated yet. It just states

And when I try to checkin, it states


Just wondering if this is normal for an upgrade. All the points have been deducted and I also have text confirmation so I'm not too worried but I guess u never know

That's a great outcome! I was flying out of LAX earlier this week and my upgrade to J only came 1 hour before boarding (as a P1), so my colleague who is QFF Silver and was travelling on same flight had lost all hope, but she received a Y to W upgrade at the gate. So sometimes it's good to keep hoping!

No one is going to be upset about you posting your successes here. Stories like this get celebrated! Congratulations, enjoy the flight! Definitely report back on the experience.

The weather was pretty good there over the last couple of days, if a little smoggy. Hopefully that continues for you.

The risk is not so much that you could get used to it, it's the rest of your family that you have to reset their attitudes. From now on, they will always want to be up the front
