upgrade pts. required for bne-lax

How many pts. are required for upgrade from economy to bus. bne-lax just one way?

Frequent Flyer - Using Points - Flight Upgrades - About Flight Upgrades

Discount Economy (ie not in Fare Class Y) - Business: 72,000 points.
Full Economy (ie in Fare Class Y) or Premium Economy - Business: 45,000 points.

As per my other post, certain fare classes are not eligible for entering into the upgrade lottery. These include the deep discount fares in N,O,Q classes.

To reiterate:

With QantasFF, All International Economy revenue fares (other than full [Y] or Premium [W,T]) are considered "Discount".

You may be lucky with the upgrade, but the last few times I've tried to buy a J-class ticket on this route it's been fully booked (my TA puts me on a flight via Auckland, took 3-4 hours longer). Brisbane seems to be getting more and more popular. Roll on Virgin!
