And there's some other rule as well that 'overnight flights' greater than three hours (or 3.5 hours or something), arriving or departing between 1am and 6am also have PJs and amenity kits. I'm only going by memory as I haven't seen the official blurb about that on the SQ site since about 2009 or so (maybe it's still there, somewhere).

The rule used to include the CMB-SIN red-eyes for example. Today they probably cover some Japan or Seoul flights?

I had a similar call this week offering me a promotional upgrade from Y to PE or J and took them up on the upgrade to PE as it is an afternoon flight.

Unfortunately they did not mention the whole airport only check in (got the voucher too) so had a moment of panic today when OLCI opened and it was telling me I was not ticketed for the flight!

Not so much a FF myself, but this is definitely a first considering my most recent flight on SQ was just weeks ago. Perhaps more of a targeted promo among the FF elitists?

I'd take it for $600 without hesitation!

VA WP with relatively frequent travel in SQ Y over here but no love for me... so you guys must be doing something right!

Must be the SYD-SIN route. Do they have too much premium capacity or something?

I would just like to report back that my upgrade went smoothly, and suites was everything it promised to be. The flight felt like it went for 2hrs not 8. I wish it went for twice as long.

I am pretty sure I took good advantage of the in flight offering, and I'll write up a bit of a TR with some photos soon, maybe post some when I'm in the next lounge tomorrow on my way to REP

Very happy I upgraded, very sad not to have more suites class in my life.
To say this is a first world problem doesn't cover it in the least...

It is hard to go back so if you start out of Perth you start in business class and then go Suites out of Singapore.

Glad to hear it was good! Once you've flown SQ F, the rest of the world loses some of its shine... it's certainly tough!
